Tacos Don Chente in Oxnard

My family and I truly enjoyed our meals, menudo, huarache, and quesabirria.

Prices aren't too bad and they have lots of good authentic Mexican options. They could work a bit on their customer service. They never seem happy or grateful for my business.

Home made Mexican style food, great variety of dishes, seafood,burgers, handmade tortillas, pozole and menudo on the weekends, I recommend my favorite sandwich Torta Cubana.

Fun little spot that we tried out. Great food, great staff and full of a lot of people.

The worst Carne Asada burrito I had in my life. So freaking dry ! No flavor.

So good but leaked everywhere by time we got home

I liked the hand made tortillas , not to many places do that any more.

I have only stopped in for breakfast burros, so I will update once I get a better idea of their other items. Burros are huge and beyond filling for a breakfast. Keep in mind that most menu items are made fresh to order, so drive-thru wait time will be a little longer than your typical fast food joint, definitely worth waiting, but not if your on your lunch break and in a hurry.

Bad experience. Had to personally walk past the counter and get my own food since it was just sitting there getting cold. Staff has no sense of direction and everyone is so busy cleaning up to go home instead. Never will I return.

Highly recommend going to this restaurant. The food is always good. The dinning room got plenty of room to sit and enjoy whatever is playing on the tv monitors.

Most excellent! I am from San Diego and pretty picky about Mexican food and Don Chente Taco's is def 5 star+

I think you're one of the best Mexican restaurants around here in Oxnard they got the food hot ready and cook

Great for drive through tacos. If you go inside, get plenty of the green sauce. You can almost drink that stuff, it's so good.

They serve menudo! It was my first visit and I will be back the food was great and there is a huge variety on the menu. Also there is a drive thru 🤯. We drove all over Ventura looking for a mexican restaurant open on New Years day but nothing.

Good prices, quick service, nice staff! Easy order at the counter, take a seat and boom. Got the shrimp cocktail (great) and the michelada! (lots of miche options) 😁

Very poor management or did their phone lines just die? They hung up on my daughter twice at 8:10pm after she asked what time they close. She asked me to call in case it was her phone, I called at 8:15pm when a girl answered and the line went dead after I asked what time they closed. I called again and asked about drive thru, this time the girl answered and said they’re closing up at 8:30pm. If it’s the phones get them checked but if it was not...it’s ok to say you’re not taking orders because you’re closing and you don’t want to get home late, I get that but don’t just hang up on people. It’s rude

I was impressed with the attention to detail with my order. As I drove off back home I thought, well, I hope I didn't forget to ask for something. To my great surprise, the staff at Tacos Don Chente, had taken the time to add a variety of salsas and the Carne Asada Plate was loaded with different goodies ( roasted baby onions, roasted green peper etc). And the food was perfect! Great place!

Every time is friendly service! Variety of options. They have flavored fresca... cucumber, watermelon etc!

There menudo was good but the meat needed to be cut in smaller pieces.

Never disappointed here for authentic Mexican food with the convenience of a drive thru, just don't expect your food to be out quickly (not a fast food drive thru!). Generous portions of meat on their tacos, their quesadillas Don Chente are amazing! Best strawberry agua fresca here too, a must try! Red salsa here is mild, the green sauce is where the heat is packed and tasty too. Enjoy.

I order some Birria tacos. The order supposed to be served with caldo. When I opened the box to my surprise there was no caldo. (The whole purpose of the birria tacos). So I called them to complain and the rude lady over the phone told me that at the moment they didn’t have any caldo available. She said that when they don’t have caldo, they only serve the tacos!

Came here to celebrate my friends birthday and the service was excellent. I highly recommend the specialty tacos, they're huge as well as delicious.

Best tacos de birria we ever had the consomé was spicy and the flavor was just a bomb. Perfect for hangovers 😂 at any day at any time.

I wish there were more Don Chentes around. The food is not only delicious, but, totally authentic!!! Greeted by smiley, courteous servers anxious to help! Carne asada tacos are my favorite. My husband loves the "lengua" burritos. I salivate just looking at a bowl of menudo. Enjoy a meal here, no regrets!!

The breakfast burritos are good, except for the fact that they add rice to them. I'm from Texas and this is definitely a different style of mexican food but it was still good.

This place is great. I am from out of town and this place always serves food fast and the food tastes great!!! Food is cheap and the service is great. It's kind of hard to see from the road because the trees are overgrown, but once you find it, you'll love it!I ordered the Quesadilla and aqua fresca. I also ordered their freshly made tacos.

Good food and nice portions! The cucumber lime drink is so good!!! The seasonings and flavors of carne asada, cabeza and pastor tacos were satisfying and so were the cheese and chicken enchiladas. We ate inside of the restaurant and a mariachi band came in and serenaded us! Bring cash incase someone comes in to sell flowers!

The customer service here is lousy. They don't care to strive for customer satisfaction. They are inflexible and the food seems to be a bit overpriced. They run out of items and do not tell you until you are already billed and ready to pay, and they are not willing to accommodate the customer in something as simple as an upgrade in a drink. A simple accommodation they could have easily made to keep customers satisfied, but they are too down right stingy!

Love the food here. Fridays they have 5 dollar asada fries which were awesome. I have tried the soups, tacos, ceviche and burritos and they all have been really good. This one also has a drive thru which is awesome.

They have a drive thru, credit cards accepted, handmade tortillas & accecss card too! Lots of delivery options uber eats, grub hub & doordash.

Disappointed on not only one but two of the 3 items I order they were lazy and I can't believe the put brown old avocado that was already growing roots. I call and talk to an employee asking to talk to a manager. Said that the manager would call me back bever did. Where is the quality control. Is so infuriating to get home and opening your food and looking at it and being put off that yoy don't want to eat it. And going all the way back and waist more time to have them do something that should have been done since the beginning. Quality Control! Never going back! There's so many options is not necessary.
